Our cub scout den went on a field trip to Safeco Field to ride the light rail and to take a tour. Not only was it fun, it fulfilled the requirements for earning the Travelers badge.
A few days before the kids got out for Christmas break, the 5th graders went on a field trip to the Seattle Center. Colin thought the best thing was the animation exhibit. Christine thought it was not having to ride the bus there and back!
At the last minute we decided to go to the WSU vs. LSU basketball game at the Key Arena. What a game! It was close the whole way and miraculously went into overtime after it wasn't looking good for the Cougs at the end. (Thanks, in part, to the refs) The crowd was wild, although extremely tired of singing the fight song for the millionth time. Amazingly we pulled off the win by a mere 2 points.
Finally it felt good to be a Coug again. I had forgotten what that felt like.

Colin was up earlier than ever this year! He never got up super early before. Hmm... Hope this isn't a new trend!

Colin and Christine went to Wenatchee just after Christmas to visit Opa and Grandma Bob. On our way home, we decided to stop in Leavenworth to see it in its holiday glory.
The three of us went to the Seattle Center for New Year's Eve. We got there early before the huge crowd and the rain arrived. Since we had an amazing parking spot, we watched the fireworks from the truck. Nice & dry. Good show!
